Electricians (State certified journeymen, project foremen, 2-3 year apprentices, and low voltage technicians)
Safeway also has openings for electricians of all levels. We provide electrical installation and service to an industrial, commercial and residential customer base. We currently have openings for 2-3 year apprentices, journeymen electricians, project foremen and low voltage technicians. Will sponsor through the ABC license preparation program.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the installation of new and existing electrical systems in commercial and industrial facilities. These installations will require: the interpretation of prepared plans; the creation of electrical schematics; installation of new wiring; modification of existing wiring; installation of electrical equipment such as panels, transformers, interface equipment, etc; oversight of 2-5 apprentices and lower ranked journeyman electricians.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Including the following, other duties may be assigned. Essential duties and responsibilities of any other job description not present on projects become the responsibility of this position.
- Assists Foreman in layout of projects
- Directs and trains electrical apprentices
- Installs all types of conduit including rigid, PVC, EMT, flex, seal-tight
- Installs fixtures and lighting control panels
- Installs electrical panels, switch gear, control panels
- Installs back boxes, plaster rings, devices and cover plates of all types
- Installs underground conduit, including trenching with machine, backhoe or by hand, as needed
- Reads and understands blueprints
- Uses and supervises the use of tools by apprentices, including but not limited to: drills, knock-out punches, sawzall, circular saw, band saw, hydraulic cutter and crimper, heater box, torch, extension cords, ladders, high lift equipment, safety equipment, conduit benders, fish tape
- Keeps Foreman informed about material, labor and equipment needs
- Maintains jobsite material in a neat and orderly fashion
- Shows up on time and dressed professionally
- Brings all required personal hand tools each day
- Interacts with others on the job in a professional and courteous manner
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment
- Troubleshoots and repair circuitry and devices

Electrical Superintendant/Project Manager
Job Description

- Clean DMV report
- Computer literate.
- Able to read blue prints.
- Supervise a crew through various phases of the job.

Electrical/Alarm CAD Designer
Safeway Electric currently has an immediate opening for a design engineer. The design engineer will provide consultation and design for all types of electrical and low voltage projects. Utilizing his/her knowledge of electrical systems, the design engineer will coordinate with the general contractor or customer, architects, engineers, city and county building departments, etc. to design the appropriate application for the building. Using AutoCAD, the design engineer will draft the system to create the plans and submittals required to obtain permits and system installation.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Extensive AutoCAD experience
- 3+ years experience in a designer position
- Experience with fire alarm design is a plus
- Must be able to layout electrical systems per NEC & fire alarm systems per NFPA 72 & 101.
- Strong technical abilities are a must (relay logic, circuit design, etc.)
- Experience with Microsoft Office is a plus
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator is a plus
- Maintenance of CAD file structure and archiving of hard copies
- Strong work ethic and emphasis on production
- BSEE is desired
